Chicago Botanic Garden

The Chicago Botanic Garden opened a little more than 40 years ago as a beautiful place to visit, and it has matured into one of
the world’s great living museums and conservation science centers. In 2013, one million people visited the Garden’s 26 gardens and four natural areas, uniquely situated on 385 acres on and around nine islands, with six miles of lake shoreline. The Garden also has a renowned Bonsai Collection.

Kohl Children’s Museum

Kohl Children’s Museum offers hands-on, interactive exhibits designed exclusively for children ages birth to 8. All of the exhibits and programs are designed to make learning fun and interesting for young children.
The current exhibit, Build It, involves building blocks which are classic, timeless toys, and this new exhibit puts an exciting spin on an old favorite by letting children explore dozens of different types of building blocks all in a single space! With several activities including a light table (which allows kids to explore color, shape and shadows) and a Sweet Home Chicago station (which gives young ones a chance to construct famous Chicago skyscrapers) this interactive exhibit features a wide variety of blocks and encourages hands-on exploration.
