Mother’s Day Brunch at The Cafe at Glenview Park Golf Club

Mother’s Day is just around the corner and if you’re looking for a place to take Mom for brunch in Glenview you should try The Cafe at Glenview Park Golf Club.

The Cafe will be hosting Mother’s Day brunch this May8th with seating at 9:30 am  or 12 pm. Reservations are required and do fill up quickly. You can contact The Cafe at 847-654-3200

Cost for this years Mother’s Day brunch at The Cafe at Glenview Park Golf Club is $25.95 an adult, $13.95 for children ages 5-10 and $6.95 for children ages 2 – 4.

4th of July Fireworks in Glenview, Northbrook and Morton Grove!

Monday July 5th Glenview will be celebrating with their annual parade. Starting at 10:30am at the corner of Glenview Rd and Church St. children between the ages of preschool and 9 years old are invited to bring their decorated bikes to ride in the Parade of Bikes at 11am. The Main 45th annual Independence Day Glenview Parade starts at 11:30am. The parade goes west on Glenview Rd, South on Harlem, to Central and march west to Johns Park where it ends. Start celebrating America’s Birthday early, and end your day with the Twilight Show.

At 7:30pm gather on the grounds of the Glenview Park Golf Club at 800 Shermer Rd, where the Northshore Concert Band will play patriotic tunes to the fabulous Glenview Fireworks. Pack up your blankets, chairs, coolers and step out with your family to enjoy this festive day.

Morton Grove Days and 4th of July Fireworks

July 3rd & 4th are going to be filled with fun in Morton Grove. Celebrate Independence Day the entire weekend at Morton Grove Days located at Harrer Park, 6250 Dempster St. There is live entertainment, a carnival, food, a raffle and more. Get a full day pass for the carnival for only $20 or purchase individual tickets.

July 4th at 2:30pm the Morton Grove 4th of July parade will begin. The parade runs on Dempster St. from Central to Park. Don’t forget to wear your red, white and blue for this fun event.

Morton Grove Fireworks begin at 9:30pm at Harrer Park. Get there early to claim your space, break out the chairs and blankets and sit back and watch the sky light up above you.

4th of July Northbrook Fireworks and Parade

Northbrook starts the celebration on the 3rd of July with Pancakes in the Park. All morning activities take place in the Village Green Park at Shermer and Meadow Roads. There are family games, good food and great fun. From 7am – 11am bring the whole family out to enjoy live music and a friendly softball game, the annual police and fire department play off. For all of you runners don’t miss the 3rd Annual Liberty Loop 5k. Registration begins at 6:30am at the Village Green Center located at 1810 Walters Avenue Northbrook, IL. Sunday July 4th the Northbrook Parade of Bikes kicks off at 2:15pm starting at Western Ave. and Cherry Lane followed by the main parade at 2:30pm. Set up your chairs along the route and enjoy the festive celebration with patriotic floats, music, fun and more. Get set for the Northbrook Fireworks at 8:45pm at the Velodrome off of Maple Ave. There will be a short program and at dusk the sky will dazzle and shine.

No matter where you live, the towns’ villages make this holiday weekend a great celebration for the whole family. You will be sure to find something do this Independence Day. Enjoy your weekend with your family, and remember to bring your sun block, mosquito spray, coolers and chairs, the weather is going to be great. Have a safe holiday.

A small note I would like add, the 4th of July is a good day to remember all who serve our country that will not be here in America to see the fireworks. GOD bless them all.

Over the last 3 months 208 single family Glenview homes have closed or are pending closing as well as 89 Glenview condos and townhomes. This is good news for Glenview Home Owners who are selling their homes. There is an average of 11 months supply of homes on the market and the days on the market is around 229 days.

There is always something exciting happening everyday this summer, June 7-August 27 at the Historic Wagner Farm at 1510 Wagner Road, Glenview, IL.

Dollar Drop-in Days – Monday-Saturday, 10-11 am: Participate in fun crafts, demonstrations and farm-related activities. Activities change daily. Meet at the Heritage Center front desk. $1/day per participant.

Monday-Saturday, 4:30 pm: Public Milking Demonstrations in the Heritage Center’s milking parlor. Free.

Monday-Sunday, 10 am – 3 pm: Meet costumed interpreters as they go about daily life on a working 1920s farm. Free.

Tuesdays & Thursdays, 4 pm: Storytelling with Miss Joyce and Miss Mary Beth. Free

Glenview Schools will be ending soon for the summer and it will be time to plan your family fun filled weekends.

For the young ones there is a zero depth pool that allows tots to explore the water at their own pace. For the older kids there is the interactive island that features water cannons, waterfalls, drop slides and a diving platform. For the adults there is a 5 lane, 25 yard lap and activity pool. With a little something for everyone, you can make a day out of a trip the Glenview Roosevelt Outdoor Pool. There is plenty of space to lay out in the sun and enjoy the company. Don’t worry if you get hungry, you can the hit the Island Grill which offers everything from hamburgers, grilled chicken sandwiches and hotdogs to snacks including nachos, pretzels, shaved ice and much more. For more outdoor fun dive into the Glenview Flick Outdoor Pool which is located at 3600 Glenview Road, Glenview, IL and opens June 12th. Family fun for all includes a fenced-in kiddie area with a junior slide and spray play that is perfect for the little ones. Also for the little ones there is a large zero-depth play pool with interactive spray play and a tropical garden play structure, a favorite of the younger kids. For the teenagers the Flick Pool in Glenview has a high-energy, interactive spray play area with a custom-designed water cannon game and two giant water flume slides which provides hours of fun. They didn’t forget about the older crowd, the pool offers a diving well with two drop slides and a one meter diving board as well as an 8 lane, 25 yard pool to swim laps. There is fun for everyone at the Flick Outdoor Pool with comfortable deck chairs and you can relax in the sun or the shade. Come hungry to the pool because the Garden Grill offers an array of great food including tuna steak and chicken breast sandwiches, hotdogs and snacks such as nachos, pretzels, soft serve ice cream and so much more. What about the rainy days? Glenview offers a great solution; visit Splash Landing Indoor Aquatic Center at 2400 Chestnut Avenue, Glenview, IL. The pool is open all year long and the Splash Landings Play Pool offers a sloping from zero depth to 3 ½ feet pool with an air traffic control tower-themed waterslide and interactive water play features. You can also swim laps in the Splash Landings Lap Pool or relax in the Splash Landing Whirlpool. The facility offers an extensive program of swimming lessons for all ages through our Starfish Swim School. The pool is also great for parties speaking from experience.
