The month of November includes many great festive days including Thanksgiving and Black Friday. Besides being the biggest shopping day of the year and a great chance to score a ton of holiday gifts at deep discounts, Black Friday can also be a day of craziness, stress and frustration.
Without a good plan of attack in place, you might find yourself missing out on the deals you want the most.
Chicago is a great shopping city, and offers amazing Black Friday deals at its many shopping centers. Unfortunately, the city’s congestion on this holiday could create a truly hectic and uncomfortable atmosphere for you as you try to do your shopping.
To help you make the most of your Black Friday experience in the Windy City, we’ve compiled a list of easy tips below.

DECIDE ON THE BEST SHOPPING CENTER

Deciding where to shop on Black Friday is step one to surviving the day. Choose your destinations and make a plan for which stores would you like to visit and what you’d like to buy.
Scour shopping centers’ websites to find out which deals you want to take advantage of and set time limits for how much time you can spend in each destination.
Here are a few notable Chicago shopping spots that you might want to include on your itinerary:
+ Water Tower Place: With a variety of luxury and department store names, Water Tower Place is a great spot for both high-end items and a number of more affordable options. Armani Exchange, Coach, and Henri Bendel are among the stores at Water Tower Place, as are retailers like American Eagle Outfitters, Express, Sports Authority and Build-A-Bear Workshop.
+ The Magnificent Mile: Perhaps the most famous shopping destination in Chicago, the Magnificent Mile combines high-fashion and luxury retailers with big-box department stores in one scenic destination. Some of the retailers you can peruse while on the MM are Burberry, Chanel, Gucci, Armani, Neiman Marcus, Eileen Fisher and more. From jewelry to toys to apparel, the Mile has everything you could need.
+ The Brickyard Mall: This lower key retailer offers great shopping spots like Target, Pier 1, Marshall’s, Lowe’s and more.
+ Westfield Old Orchard: Banana Republic, the Apple Store, Bloomingdale’s, Kate Spade, Forever 21 and more are housed at Westfield Old Orchard in Skokie.

INVEST IN GREAT TRANSPORTATION

Black Friday could present a number of issues when it comes to transportation. If you aren’t especially familiar with the city, getting lost and failing to find parking are two of the biggest.  In addition to these big threats to the efficiency of your shopping schedule, you may also find yourself walking long distances to get to the stores on your agenda. This not only takes up precious time, but it’s also exhausting, creating another set of frustrations. Why not book a car service with a reputable Chicago company and have them handle your transportation during Black Friday?

You won’t have to worry about walking long distances to get to the store fronts, either; your chauffeur will drop you off at the spot of your choice.  You also won’t have to worry about lugging all of your purchases around, waiting for an opportunity to head back to your car and drop them off. Your chauffeur will meet you where you’re at so you can drop your bags off, without a long walk.
Car service is the only way to travel on Black Friday in Chicago.

MAKE A LIST, CHECK IT TWICE

As we’ve said before, making a list for your desired items and which stores carry them is the first step to a successful Black Friday in Chicago.
Do your research online beforehand, so you know which stores are offering discounts on the items from your list.
If you need to, make a printout of your agenda for the day and keep it on you at all times. When you find yourself getting distracted, simply glance at your agenda and get back on track with your shopping and spending.
Here’s to an amazing Black Friday in Chicago this year; we hope you find everything on your list!
